On this this day in Dutch history:
On the 21st of June, 1955, the first Nijntje book was published. Nijntje is known in other countries as Miffy, and in case you didn’t know, Nijntje is a girl. 
Nijntje was created by Dick Bruna, who draws and writes the books. There have been 33 books so far, and one of them, Nijntje Wordt Kunstenaar/Miffy the Artist, was created with the Tate Gallery in London.
